Smith. Sam Smith.
The new theme song for the new James Bond film is out now.
Smith announced via Twitter “Writing’s On The Wall” is now available on ITunes.
Daniel Craig returns as 007 in SPECTRE. Sam Mendes returns to direct the follow-up to Skyfall, the first billion-dollar Bond film which featured a themed by Adele.
The track, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’, was co-written by Smith and fellow GRAMMY© Award winner Jimmy Napes.
“This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.” Smith told 007.com after the announcement he was singing the theme.
The first James Bond theme song recorded by a British male solo artist since 1965 – that was when Tom Jones performed the theme to Thunderball.
Filled with dramatic strings, the dark ballad definitely feels like a Bond. You can preview for yourself here.
SPECTRE opens November 6th.
