Rogue is the villain turned X-Man turned Avenger.

Since losing Professor Xavier, Rogue has clashed with her teammates and lost control of her powers in Uncanny Avengers.

The tension between Rogue and Scarlet Witch exploded into a fatal encounter but now both women are pawns of the Red Skull as he unleashes his “World War Hate.”

Can the two powerhouse heroes come to a truce?

Avengers and Children of the Atom must unite against the Red Skull – who now has the mutant power of Professor Xavier’s brain.

As Avengers and X-Men: AXIS begins Rick Remender explains Rogue’s state of mind.

“Rogue has been in a state of regression, as she has fallen to despair. The death of Charles robbed her of all of the progress she had made and all of the hope and left her confused and angry, and looking for someone to blame, someone to exact revenge upon. She’s finally changing that arc at the beginning of this, but it’s right as she has lost the ability to control her powers and is now stuck, yet again, with another person rambling around in her head,” Remender told Marvel.com.

“I think that in my mind, she was the one who was most dramatically affected by the loss of Charles, in that when he found her, she was the most damaged, maybe next to Wolverine, in the history of the X-Men, and it was his belief in her and his willingness to disband the X-Men if they didn’t accept her, that was the foundation for her that she built upon, so having that foundation crumbled away and now being faced with the Red Skull…[she is] quite eager to undo the molestation of Xavier and put things right.”

Avengers and X-Men: AXIS, The Red Supremacy begins next month.
