Missing Daisy Johnson (aka Quake) now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on break after the massive midseason finale: Maveth?
Daisy’s comic book counterpart turned up with a new role in comics in this week’s All-New Inhumans #2 by James Asmus, Charles Soule and Stefano Caselli.
Crystal is a member of the Attilan Royal Family and acting as an Ambassador to the world. The former Avenger and ex-wife of Quicksilver is confident and cool leading a squad of veteran and new Inhumans around the globe to protect NuHumans and show the rest of the humanity they have nothing to fear.
Daisy was most recently working in outer space with Bucky Barnes in his last Winter Soldier series but in the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now, the former Secret Warrior is now official S.H.I.E.L.D. liaison officer to the Inhumans and consults with Crystal.
In comics Daisy gained her powers as the daughter of mad scientist Calvin Zabo aka Mister Hyde. On television Daisy’s mother was Inhuman and gained her seismic power after exposure to Terrigen crystals.
If you’re a fan of Daisy then this new series is one to watch for strong female heroes like team leader Crystal who had a rich history in the Marvel Universe as a former Avenger, Fantastic Four ally and mother of Magneto’s granddaughter. The Royal with elemental powers is a strong leader acting as a cool diplomat and decisive squadron leader when NuHumans are threatened.
Daisy and Crystal may clash as the All-New Inhumans investigate NuHuman abuses in the fictional nation of Sin Cong, an Asian country last seen in The Avengers in the 1960’s. The country’s tyrant, the Commisar, rules with a iron grip and manufactures weapons for Hydra.
Inhumans and S.H.I.E.L.D. are tied together in Marvel’s comic, cinematic and television. This season Agents of SHIELD revealed Hydra’s ancient secret. This week’s Daisy appearance could make this a book to watch as Marvel continues marching towards an Inhumans movie with more of the race appearing in on the television series.
Could Coulson and Daisy visit Sin Cong on future episodes?
Could Crystal or another member of the Royal Family of Attilan appear.
Daisy’s appearance and recent one-shot could signal a future ongoing book like Mockingbird will get in 2016.
