Marvel shared a look at the next act of Rick Remender’s ongoing epic for the Star-Spangled Avenger in Captain America #22 with art by Carlos Pacheco.
It’s everything Remender has been building up to since he took over the title with Dimension Z and the return of Arnim Zola then the introduction of the Iron Nail. The Tomorrow Soldier is being called “the final chapter” of the saga that started with Remender’s relaunch.
The Super-Serum formula inside Steve Rogers was neutralized and now he’s turned into an ailing, elderly man. Now Steve faces the reunion of the Red Skull and Zola as the enemies unite for the plot they’ve been scheming his World War II.
Captain America #22 hits July 2nd and this is an arc to watch. Rick Remender is writing the massive event Avengers & X-Men: AXIS in which the two teams must unite against the Red Skull – now armed with the power of Professor X. Will Steve get his powers back to help fight the Red Onslaught? Stay tuned.
