I almost posted this last night but couldn’t wrap my head around it but after today’s Avengers Versus X-Men announcement – my brain is spinning!

Two beloved women on two of the most important teams in comic history. What would happen if these two women at their most powerful…went to war?
With today’s announcement that the Phoenix is coming and the Avengers and X-Men will go to war over a shocking decision connected to the cosmic entity’s imminent return, I immediately recalled House of M.
Scarlet Witch lost her mind, killed her teammates, warped reality into the House of M and then decimated the mutant race. The X-Men and Avengers almost came to blows over how to stop an insane mutant with ultimate power. Wolverine knew that Wanda had to be killed.
Jean Grey ultimately took her own life after learning she killed billions as Dark Phoenix. The X-Men were prepared to fight for her life against the Shiar Empire.
As Avengers: The Children’s Crusade comes to an end with Scarlet Witch possibly given redemption, could the Phoenix Force be seeking Wanda as its new host?
