Here’s a first look at Peter Capaldi along with Jenna Coleman on the set of Doctor Who courtesy BBC. The Scottish actor will portray the Twelfth Doctor when the series returns in Fall 2014. Coleman continues her role as Clara and will help the Time Lord through this latest regeneration.
The new Doctor appeared briefly in The Day of the Doctor 50th Anniversary Special and in the final moments of Matt Smith’s finale episode The Time of the Doctor. Capaldi is now filming the first episode of his premiere season.
Capaldi’s casting appears to make a change in tone for the series after three much younger Doctors. Capaldi seems to represent to return to the old school days of a older Doctor. I still say Capaldi reminds me of the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and his nemesis The Master (Roger Delgado.)
