Is the JSA returning with DC Rebirth?

Fans left the comic book shops with more questions on this new comic book day. The free DC Comics June Previews was available at stores with big updates on the DC Comics Rebirth titles launching in June and beyond.

The magazine includes bonus, behind-the-scenes details, including a foreword/introduction from DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer and Rebirth “architect” Geoff Johns, details on his DC Universe: Rebirth Special.

We learned the identity of the new Superwoman and Suicide Squad writer Rob Williams teased one of three new villains joining the roster.

CAPTAIN JACK Returns In New TORCHWOOD Comic By JOHN BARROWMAN

Captain Jack is back in an all-new Torchwood comic by John Barrowman.

Titan Comics announced that Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood will return in an all-new ongoing comic series starring the dashing Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper.

The new book is written by Captain Jack himself, John Barrowman, and Carole E. Barrowman, and with issues illustrated by Antonio Fuso and Pasquale Qualano.

The new adventures are in continuity with the new hit Torchwood audio dramas from Big Finish and as part of the official continuation of the Torchwood saga. The new comic arrives in stores on July 6, the week of Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event – Saturday, July 9, 2016. SPIDER-MAN New Movie Title

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At CinemaCon, Marvel and Sony revealed the title of Spidey’s first solo adventure since the studios reached an agreement over the film future of the hero.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released July 17, 2017.

Jon Watts will direct the film starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

DOCTOR STRANGE First Trailer

Marvel conjured up the first trailer for Doctor Strange this first look at the Sanctum Sanctorum in this first poster for the upcoming film starring Marvel’s supernatural superhero.

Benedict Cumberbatch plays Dr. Stephen Strange, a gifted surgeon who suffers a horrible accident and travels the world for a cure.

Strange finds a new path as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme and the newest hero to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

SUICIDE SQUAD Guess the New Member

Amanda Waller has recruited some big bad guys and gals for Task Force X but with DC Comics Rebirth – the team’s power levels could going way up.

After Suicide Squad storms the box-office on August 5th, DC Comics launches a brand new series starring a team of villains. Writer Rob Williams, artists Jim Lee and Phillip Tan will unleash the new twice monthly Suicide Squad following DC Universe Rebirth.

The new roster will have Harley Quinn, Katana, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Killer Croc. Co-publisher Lee teased more members joining at the DC All Access panel at Emerald City Comicon.

BEN AFFLECK To Direct BATMAN Film

Ben Affleck is taking the reigns of the Dark Knight’s movie future after Justice League.

Affleck will star and direct a new stand-alone Batman film. Warner Brothers Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara told theater owners at CinemaCon according to The Hollywood Reporter. At the annual meeting of movie chain operators, the Chairman noted the box-office performance of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which introduced Affleck as the new Dark Knight.

“It set up a great foundation for our DC slate, which includes at least 10 movies through 2020,” said Tsujihara, “I’m also exited to know that will be working with Ben Affleck on a stand-alone Batman movie.”

During San Diego Comic-Con last year, THR said Affleck was working with DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns on a Batman solo film and the Oscar winner has written a script according to a more recent report.
