Aliens Vs Colonial Marines Game Trailer

Ridley Scott returns to the world of Alien in Prometheus. Gamers can sign up for duty with the Colonial Marines of James Cameron’s Aliens. SEGA has released a new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines. The game will be released February 2013.

My favorite line from one of those famous Marines in Aliens is when they take the weapons away and Frost says “what are we supposed to use man, harsh language?”

Gotham Burns in New “The Dark Knight Rises” Poster

The Dark Knight Rises one sheet courtesy Warner Brothers

Batman is center stage as Gotham City burns in this new and final one-sheet poster for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises revealed by TheDarkKnightRises.com.

A Fire Will Rise must refer to the destruction orchestrated by Bane (Tom Hardy.) The film opens July 20th. I can’t believe it’s ending. Sigh

The First SKYFALL Trailer

courtesy 007.com

The first trailer for the new James Bond film is online! Daniel Craig returns as 007 in Skyfall this November.

We see Bond being interrogated while M (Judi Dench) and Ralph Fiennes watch. It reminded me of the test for replicants in Blade Runner. When the word “Skyfall” is given Bond says “done” and leaves.

The trailer builds with a slow burn revealing more hints of the story. We see shots of the Shanghai skyline, the London underground and what I think is Scotland. As for characters you can see a silhouette of the mystery woman Severine played by Berenice Marlohe, a quick shot of Naomie Harris as Eve giving Craig a shave. There is one shot of a man walking away from a burning building at night. I assume that is Javier Bardem as the villain.

One haunting image is several coffins covered by the British flag and the shot pans out to show M. Perhaps this is a key moment in story. Producers have said 007’s mission in this film is related to a mistake in M’s past coming back to haunt her.

After a final burst of action the trailer with James Bond announcing: “Some men are coming to kill us. We’re gonna kill them first.”

Thanks to 007.com. You can see the trailer on the big screen in front of Men in Black III this weekend. By Editor

First X-Men, Sabretooth by Neal Adams

The First X-Men by Neal Adams courtesy Marvel.com

If you’re like me you’re still geeky giddy with the news that legendary Neal Adams will write and draw The First X-Men. This retro but in canon tale will feature Wolverine and Sabretooth.

In the latest Axel-In-Charge column on Comic Book Resources Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso revealed interior pages of the series. I wanted to share this interpretation of Victor Creed by Adams. Alonso revealed the balance the retro story with modern readers.

“It’s a challenge. Neal pitched us a really great concept for a Wolverine story that we realized, with a little bit of work, might actually fit as an official piece of X-Men history. A story that illuminated the connection between Wolverine’s, Professor X and Sabretooth and, indeed, the very concept of a mutant super-team. The few months Neal and [writer] Christos [Gage] and [editor] Nick [Lowe] work-shopped that story really paid off — it became so much richer and important and relevant, considering surprises that have yet to be revealed in “Avengers Vs. X-Men.” I commend Neal and [writer] Christos [Gage] and [editor] Nick [Lowe] for their ability to take this story and make it count.”

I’m definitely excited for this new series. If you want to experience Neal Adams first X-Men stories then check out Essential X-Men Volume 3. Writer Roy Thomas and Neal Adams energized the series especially with the introduction of Havok, the Living Monolith story and future X-Man from Japan, Sunfire.
