Winter Soldier Solo Book Ends
Winter Soldier has been cancelled. The title was missing from Marvel’s July previews. Writer Jason Latour confirmed the book ends with issue 19.
“Well, I won’t lie, after spending the last 9 months or so living in Bucky Barnes’s skin, I’m a little heart broken,” he wrote on his blog. “He’s grown to be a very special character to me, maybe my favorite Marvel character ever, and I felt I could’ve written his story for years. The opportunity to do so came at a very trying time in my life and really helped me through some tough stuff, so in it’s way it’s very personal work. I hope that shows. That said though, really, enough cryin’ in my beer. I’m VERY grateful to everyone involved with the book all along the line for making it such a worthwhile experience.”
LaTour thanked artist Nic Klein and editor Lauren Sankaovitch.
Thanks to Robot 6.
Ed Brubaker brought Bucky Barnes back from the dead in his first Captain America arc. Barnes has been transformed Continue reading Winter Soldier Solo Book Ends

Mike Deodato will join Jonathan Hickman on the Avengers and New Avengers. After showing off the acclaimed artist’s upcoming work spotlighting Shang-Chi and his teammates in Hong Kong, Marvel shows a showdown that’s been brewing since Avengers vs. X-Men!
When Namor was possessed by the Phoenix Force he led an invasion of Wakanda that devastated the Black Panther’s homeland and people. When Hickman launched New Avengers #1 it was T’Challa gathering a new Illuminati to battle a cosmic threat to Earth.
Check out the cover of New Avengers #7! Namor may have been under the influence of the Phoenix during the Wakanda invasion but the Sub-Mariner has always been and will be an arrogant, quick tempered royal. It looks like the tension between T’Challa and Namor will explode in this issue!

IRON MAN: Secret Origin of Tony Stark Preview
Tony Stark fights the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 on the big screen but Kieron Gillen explores The Secret Origin of Tony Stark in the Iron Man comic book this summer. The acclaimed writer recently send Tony into deep space in the Godkiller arc and will bring the Armored Avenger back down to Earth.
“There’s a really big idea at the core of it. When I had that idea, I was walking around the airport. I was thinking about Tony in space. Marvel had just emailed me and said that the 50th anniversary [of Iron Man] is coming up and maybe we can have a story that harks back to the beginning of Tony. I was immediately thinking “how on Earth could I possibly do this?” I have Tony Stark in deep space at this point! I stopped and laughed. I shook my head and took a couple of steps. I pitched this really big idea and Marvel looked it and said it make sense. And that’s what’s scary about it. It leads towards stuff that fundamentally changes Tony’s idea of self. That’s where it kind of came from,” Gillen tells Marvel.com.
“The problem is that Continue reading IRON MAN: Secret Origin of Tony Stark Preview
