Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker and Clark Gregg helped kick off the Seattle International Film Festival. Whedon followed up Marvel’s The Avengers with his modern take on Shakespeare‘s Much Ado About Nothing.

Star Trek Into Darkness goes boldly with excitement, action and passion! J.J. Abrams and his crew honor the Star Trek legacy while taking it warp drive into new directions. It’s everything you love about Trek yet feels fresh and exciting like a cadet on their first Starfleet mission!
The story is thrilling packed with moments that make your heart race and make it hurt as Captain Kirk and his crew face threats within the Federation and in deep space. Every member of the Enterprise crew you love (Spock, Uhura, Scotty, Bones, Chekov) stars in their own powerful sequences that all thread into the greater story of family. The acting is superb with emotion, humor and power.

Did you pick up Avengers: The Enemy Within #1 this week?
This one-shot kicks off a crossover with Captain Marvel and Avengers Assemble all written by Kelly Sue DeConnick.
Carol Danvers was soaring as the new Captain Marvel until she was grounded by a mysterious medical condition.
Now Carol is being haunted by visions of her past but are the threats real or just in her head? Spider-Woman may be the only person who can help her. I really loved how DeConnick wrote the interaction between Carol and Jessica Drew with the enemies that could be real or just phantoms in the Captain’s brain!
There’s no guarantee but I’m hoping Spider-Woman and Captain Marvel may appear on the big screen in a future Avengers movie. Scott Hepburn has a cool style that reminds me of Joe Madureira and Skottie Young. This crossover kicked off with a strong start, action and great development between two of Marvel’s most iconic female heroes.
Comic book writer Kelly Sue DeConnick will appear at GeekGirlCon 2013 celebrating contributions of women to geek culture in comics, science, gaming, film and more.
The women starring in the brand new X-Men series are getting serious attention from some high caliber, fan favorite artists! Olivier Coipel draws X-Men #1. Today Marvel revealed David Lopez will reunite with writer Brian Wood on X-Men #4 with Terry Dodson joining the rotation.
The book stars Storm, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey, Psylocke and Jubilee. Storm assembles this team when Jubilee comes back to the school with an orphan with mysterious potential. One of the mutants’ old enemies arrives asking for help from a bigger threat.
Wood and Lopez were an incredible team on the last volume of X-Men. This creative team delivered the BEST depiction of Storm in decades. I’ve been a huge Terry Dodson fan for years – you may best remember his Uncanny X-Men run with Matt Fraction.
The Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD television series hits ABC this Fall! Set in the world of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) leads an elite team of agents in the new world of Gods, monsters, aliens and heroes as seen in The Avengers. The pilot was written and directed by Joss Whedon.
Now that we’ve seen the full trailer featuring a character that many speculate (and hope) could be Luke Cage (aka Power Man) played by J. August Richards (Angel) let’s start the wish list of Marvel characters we hope to see in the new series:
