Size Matters.

There’s a growth spurt of size changing heroes in comic book inspired mediums.

Getting small is big time in Marvel movies and DC inspired television.

Paul Rudd is playing Scott Lang in Marvel’s Ant-Man in 2015. The master thief is recruited by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to protect his invention – Pym particles allowing a human to shrink to insect size and a helmet that lets him communicate with insects.

Will Smith plays an iconic Batman villain in Suicide Squad for Warner Brothers.

Even non-comic fans know Joker and Harley Quinn but some may wonder about Deadshot?

The assassin with a cybernetic eye is an expert marksman who made his debut in the pages of Batman before joining several villain teams including Secret Six, Killer Elite as well as government units like Suicide Squad and Checkmate.

Deadshot was a major player in the classic run of legendary writer John Ostrander, who created the modern day team.

14 Geek Wishes Movies & Television 2014 Revisited

2014 was geektastic year for comic book and sci-fi fans with Marvel movies, a new Doctor Who and Godzilla’s comeback!

 

Here’s what I hope to see or announced in 2014 – and here’s what actually happened.

 

1. All New Cast for X-Men: Apocalypse!

Bryan Singer revealed he’s on board for 2016 film set to star the First Class cast. After the time twisting elements of X-Men: Days of Future Past – it’s a perfect opportunity for Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) to start over and discover a young Cyclops, Jean, Storm and even the impossible task of recasting a wild loner named Logan!  (UPDATE: The new film will be set in the 1980’s and feature new actors in younger versions of Scott Summers, Jean Grey and Storm. Why GAMBIT In All-Female X-MEN

Storm, Psylocke, Monet and Rachel Grey investigate a mysterious event in The Burning World starting in X-Men #23.

A fan-favorite outcast X-Man guest stars in the upcoming arc by Ms. Marvel writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Roland Boschi (Winter Soldier: The Bitter March).

Gambit is known as a ladies man and that makes  him a perfect guest star for the story.

Marvel gave something for every Cyclops fan thanks to Brian Michael Bendis and Greg Rucka in 2014.

In Uncanny X-Men it’s the Scott Summers you love to hate or staunchly declare “Cyke is Right” as he leads the mutant revolution and confronts his father figure’s big secret in the Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier.
