As we build up until the final weeks of Avengers, New Avengers, the start of Secret Wars and the end of the Marvel Universe we’re watching for clues and signs.

Who caused the death of the Marvel Universe?

Jonathan Hickman’s epic Avengers run began with incursions from other Earths threatening to destroy ours. When heroes fail the Marvel Universe will be destroyed and only Battleworld remains as Secret Wars rage.

But what started the incursions?

We could have seen a big blatant clue in Guardians Team-Up #3 by Sam Humphries this week. This issue is a Chapter Six of the Black Vortex crossover between Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men but two words send my mind reeling. Continue reading WHO DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE?

Secret Wars leads to Battleworld – the new Marvel reality divided into Warzones bases on classic comics stories.

Brian Michael Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino revisit the future world of Old Man Logan, based on the storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.  Wolverine was almost the last hero standing in a world conquered by super villains who goes on a last stand road trip.

How does each Warzone affect the ongoing Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and the aftermath? Bendis is not blatant but gives us a lot of ponder about the the impact of Logan and what’s after the war: Continue reading OLD MAN LOGAN, New SECRET WARS And New MARVEL

A new generation of readers cheer for #StarKat but long before Kitty Pryde fell for Star-Lord of Guardians of the Galaxy, she was in love with Colossus.

What if Kitty and Colossus married and had a child?

When Secret Wars launches this summer X-fans will return to the nightmare future of Days of Future Past and a married Peter and Kate.

Marguerite Bennett and Mike Norton return to this timeline created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. In the classic two-part adventure Kate Pryde travel into the past, took over her younger body and stopped an assassination that led to a future in which mutants were hunted, imprisoned or executed by giant Sentinels. This is one of the most powerful and influential X-Men storylines and the inspiration for last year’s hit movie. Continue reading KATE PRYDE in X-MEN YEARS OF FUTURE PAST

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivered an action packed new episode introducing new characters, hidden secrets, Easter eggs and one of the most unexpected characters I never thought would jump from comics to screen.

In “One of Us”, Kyle MacLachlan returned as “Cal” the psychotic father of Skye. The scientist is recruiting villains in his crusade of revenge against S.H.I.E.L.D. including Drea de Matteo as the metal clawed Karla Faye Gideon.

Here’s what we learned:

“The Index” is a S.H.I.E.L.D. watch list for super powered people – some are kept hidden in prison. Continue reading WHO’S on the AGENTS OF SHIELD Index?
