We may know which superheroes will be joining the Arrow/Flash spinoff.

Ciara Renee has been cast as Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl according to Deadline.

According to the report, this version of Hawkgirl is a young woman “who is just beginning to learn she’s been reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back.”

Shayera Hall is another version of the character and crimefighting partner/lover of Hawkman of Thanagar.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead?

Say that again?

Deadpool producers have cast newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as a very obscure character from the X-Men comics canon according to The Hollywood Reporter.

So obscure she was only seen alive for moments before she was killed off.

Grant Morrison created Negasonic Teenage Warhead during his New X-Men run. Ellie Phimister (her real name) was a telepath with precognitive abilities studying under Emma Frost in Genosha. Ellie has a vision of the population being exterminated moments before a squadron of “Wild” Sentinels attack the island nation killing six million people on the mutant haven. DC Comics brought out the star power behind recent breakout hits at the DC Champions of Justice panel at Emerald City Comicon.

Moderator Hank Kanalz asked Batgirl creative team Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher and Babs Tarr about how they came together.

Stewart was committed to Fight Club 2 and for co-writer, the only choice was longtime friend Brenden Fletcher. For art Stewart wanted a woman and recruited Tarr after seeing her on Tumblr. She had never drawn sequential pages before but had “sass” needed for their vision. Tarr revealed how for a long time she didn’t know the DC mystery project was Batgirl and she’s taking on sole art duties with issue 41 in June.
