Marvel is about to make the leap into Netflix with an original series starring Daredevil. Matt Murdock (his alter ego) is one of Marvel’s most enduring and gripping characters with a huge history and even a movie in his past but it’s an all-new start for The Man Without Fear.

Here’s what you need to know about the crusading attorney by day and masked vigilante by night to be ready for the Netflix series when it’s ready for download on April 10th:

Matt Murdock was raised by single father in Hell’s Kitchen of New York City. “Battling” Jack Murdock was a boxer who pushed his son to focus on education, a life of non-violence and to be a better man. Matt was bullied a school, called “Daredevil” as a joke but trained in secret to learn to defend himself. Continue reading DAREDEVIL For VIRGINS

One of the most extreme and uniquely dark anti-hero of DC or any comics gets his own new series this June – one of 24 new books following Convergence.

You might call Midnighter a hybrid of Batman/Wolverine/Captain America but he’s very unusual and distinct as one of the few openly gay heroes and he’s an extremely violent hero.

Midnighter debuted in Stormwatch, then co-starred with his future husband Apollo in The Authority, had a brief solo Wildstorm. In teh New 52, Midnighter was part of a revamped Stormwatch and recently clashed with super spy Dick Grayson in Grayson.

He’s one of our top picks for a GLBT DC character to star in their own television series.

Writer Steve Orlando explains why he’s taking on Midnighter in a new DCComics.com interview: Continue reading MIDNIGHTER Solo Preview

The Marvel Universe is coming to an end.

Not even the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can save it.

The Avengers and Illuminati (in New Avengers) have been fighting to save Earth from destruction by rival worlds. The incursions are when two dimensions occupy the same point and six hours later one or both worlds are obliterated.

The fight against the incursions has been the main plot of Jonathan Hickman’s epic run since 2013 that will end with the start of Secret Wars. It was hero vs hero in the race to save the world as Hickman took us 8 months into the future as the Time Runs Out arc builds up to his big finale.

One of the biggest mysteries of Hickman’s run is who caused the incursions leading to a premature death of the multiverse.

The cause of the incursions has been revealed. Continue reading MARVEL MYSTERY VILLAIN BEHIND AVENGERS INCURSIONS
