New arc, new direction and a costume for the Queen of the Amazons in Wonder Woman #41 this week. It’s the latest new look for a major DC icon in this month of relaunches and new titles.

While the Man of Steel is powered down, more casual and showing more skin and a new man is under armor as a new Batman – Wonder Woman is armored and more covered up than ever.

Watch for the debut of a new villain debuts in this week’s new issue by creative team Meredith and David Finch.

Now it’s not a team book but the Armored Avenger leading the way as Invincible Iron Man by Bendis is the flagship book of the post-Secret Wars All-New, All-Different Marvel Now coming this Fall.

So why Tony Stark, why now and why Bendis? Continue reading Why IRON MAN For ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT MARVEL NOW?

The All-New, All-Different Marvel Now is born this Fall.

We know Invincible Iron Man (Tony Stark) will be front and center (at least in both promo art posters) in a brand new series by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez.

Based on the Free Comic Book Day issue, The All-New, All-Different Avengers will be a team composed of veterans, legacy heroes and rookies with what seems to focus on adventure and fun in a shift from the darker, epic, plot with plot Jonathan Hickman run.

Johnny Storm is joining the Uncanny Avengers, Ben Grimm is a Guardian of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange is armed with more than mystical powers, there will be a new Hulk and a new Wolverine.

Inhumans are everywhere but there’s no hint of a Fantastic Four or X-Men team book but there’s a new X-Men Editorial team in place.

That’s what we know. What do we want?

Here are our top All-New, All-Different Marvel Now wishes and dreams: Continue reading ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT MARVEL NOW Wishes & Dreams

WELCOME ALL-NEW BATMAN

“And where is the Batman?!” Jack Nicholson’s Joker famously asked Gotham City in Tim Burton’s Batman.

He’s right here in the pages of Batman #41 and he’s absolutely badass.

Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Mark Doyle and the rest of Team Batman could have kept on with a winning formula. After The New 52 rebirth featuring Bruce and the Bat family against the Court of Owls, Batman faced The Death of the Family in a battle with the Joker, then went back to Zero Year for a origin filled thriller against The Riddler and finally a game-changing rematch The Joker in Endgame – they could have redefined a classic villain with an action-packed epic sure to keep satifying fans. Instead the team have taken a huge creative risk and by the first chapter alone it’s going to be huge payoff. Continue reading WELCOME ALL-NEW BATMAN

Has Marvel conjured up an acclaimed actor to bring classic evil icon to their Doctor Strange film?

Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Serenity) is playing Baron Mordo in Marvel’s Doctor Strange according to Deadline.

Mordo is Strange’s archenemy in comics but according to the story “don’t look for him to be necessarily a completely villainous character. Rather, he’s an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange‘s mythology.” Continue reading CHIWETEL EJIOFOR Joins DOCTOR STRANGE?
