VERTIGO Launching 12 New Books This Fall

12 new books over 12 weeks from the imprint that pushed boundaries of horror, fantasy, sci-fi and thrillers makes big moves at the biggest con of the year.

Vertigo, kicked off Comic-Con: International: San Diego revealed a massive Fall slate of 12 new #1s set to release over 12 consecutive weeks starting in October.

The announcement from DC’s creator-driven imprint came on their Thursday panel with comic book and literary stars joined the ranks including Darwyn Cooke, Gilbert Hernandez, Michael Allred, Holly Black, Lauren Beukes and Gail Simone and more. BEN AFFLECK & GEOFF JOHNS For BATMAN Film?

Looks like future Dark Knight will cast a huge, long shadow across the DC Comics Movie Universe.

Ben Affleck is in talks to star, write and direct a solo Batman film and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns will co-write according to Deadline.

DC kicked off their San Diego Comic Con announcements with new details about DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE by Frank Miller.

Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson will be the artist for this final chapter of Dark Knight Trilogy.

MORE MISSING FROM ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT MARVEL NOW

Fans and readers have spoken. We left out some prominent characters from our first list of top heroes and villains missing from the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now.

After your suggestions and more digging here are more fan-favorites and Marvel mainstays who are MIA so far from this fall’s relaunch:

Cable and Hope! Nathan Summers has been an on-again, off-again hero since his 1990 debut. The son of Scott Summers from the future was last seen leading the latest version of X-Force saving his adopted daughter Hope (also MIA) from same techno-organic virus infected him as a child. The future leader of the war against Apocalypse and the messiah child that reignited the mutant race are not on any of the teams but don’t count them out. MIGHTY THOR Revealed

All of Midgard welcomed the new Goddess of Thunder last year. The female Thor was a hit with fans and captured mainstream media attention. Her identity was revealed in Thor #8.

Longtime supporting character Jane Foster was the under the helmet. Foster is battling breast cancer so her heroism has a physical cost.

Marvel and artist Russell Dauterman shared a first look at the cover of The Mighty Thor #1, which picks up Foster’s story after Secret Wars, showing both sides of new hero.

HALLE BERRY On STORM Movie

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry is at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the return of her sci-fi hit series Extant.

X-fans will see Berry in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut but would love to hear her say she’s playing Ororo one more time.

Alexandra Shipp is playing a younger version of the future mutant hero in X-Men: Apocalypse which is set in the 1980’s.
