A shakeup among the X-Men as one leader vanishes and one rises as the mutant race faces a new crisis.

Cyclops and Storm have been the core leaders of the X-Men teams. Wolverine and Emma Frost have been co-leaders and co-headmasters but it’s always Scott and Ororo that are the ultimate commanders of Xavier’s legacy.

When Extraordinary X-Men #1 arrives, a new enemy is striking mutants. The Children of the Atom have been targets of hate, prejudice and extremism but this enemy is genetic. The Terrigenesis Cloud creating new Inhumans is sterilizing and wiping out mutants. Continue reading STORM, CYCLOPS And FUTURE Of X-MEN

Teddy Sears joins the cast as Jay Garrick, The Flash of Earth 2 and the original Speedster of the comics.

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will meet his counterpart from another Earth and he’ll need it for his upcoming battle with Zoom, the big bad of season two.

Sears says he’s reading up on his legendary character by hitting the (comic) books while following the lead from the producers: Continue reading TEDDY SEARS On Creating JAY GARRICK on THE FLASH

Chewbacca #1 Sometimes you get what you wish for! At a Marvel Emerald City Comicon panel, I asked for a Chewie solo book even if the word balloons were just grunts and growls. I think we’ll see more from writer Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto as Chewie gets a new sidekick on a new planet but familiar Imperial trouble.

GOTHAM After “The Last Laugh”

The Rise of the Villains continues on Gotham.

The surge of mad energy from Cameron Monaghan as Jerome Valeska (aka he who might have been the Joker) is over – sigh – but the evil is far from over.

Robin Lord Taylor is back front and center as the Penguin but it’s Theo Galavan (James Frain) still oozing with a sinister slow burn as he continues his long term plot.

Oswald Cobblepot isn’t safe from Galavan. The Penguin is perched atop the underworld but now he’s been tamed by a more dangerous bird of prey.

Before we continue talking about this week’s episode’s big moments and what they could mean here’s a… Continue reading GOTHAM After “The Last Laugh”

Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman are among the missing heroes from the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now but is the First Family poised for a comeback?

The Fantastic Four titled ended earlier this year. After Secret Wars, Johnny Storm is in love with Medusa and past of the Uncanny Inhumans cast. Ben Grimm will be a member of the new Guardians of the Galaxy.

But what about Reed, Sue, Franklin and Valeria?

Expect big changes in Guardians of the Galaxy #1 this week.

It really is an All-New, All-Different Marvel Now in deep space. Set 8 months after Secret Wars, Peter Quill is no longer Star-Lord but Lord of the Spartax Empire. The cosmic map has been re-written but the galaxy still needs Guardians.

Rocket Raccoon steps up as leader with loyal Groot, Drax and Venom at his side but with two surprising members: Kitty Pryde as Star-Lady and Ben Grimm, the Thing is on board and in the pilot’s seat. Continue reading ROCKET, KITTY and THING In New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
