What do you need to know before the latest hero joins the Marvel universe on Netflix?

Finn Jones has been cast as Danny Rand in the Marvel Netflix Iron Fist series according to EW. The upcoming series along with others starring Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones will lead to a team-up Defenders limited series.

As a boy, Danny joined his parents on a search for the mystical city of K’un L’un in the Himalayas. The tragic expedition led to Danny being raised by the city’s leader where he grew up to be a martial arts master and wielder of the mystical force (the Iron Fist) which allows him to summon and focus his chi. MS. MARVEL Wins AWARD for DIVERSITY in COMICS

Marvel Comics’ Ms. Marvel, by writer G. Willow Wilson of Seattle and artist Adrian Alphona, won the second annual Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity in Comics, presented at Long Beach Comic Expo in Long Beach, California.

The breakout character has become a fan-favorite and rookie member of the Avengers.

Wilson praised Ms. Marvel fans in an impassioned acceptance speech graciously thanking readers who make the book a success.

“This award is very special to me, not just because of its connection to Dwayne, but because of what it represents…it is something being kept alive by one thing only and that is the readers and the fans whose passion, whose cosplay, whose wonderful repartee on Tumblr and Twitter make this book such a joy to work on.”

SEAHAWKS SUPERSTARS at EMERALD CITY COMICON 2016

Wade Wilson and Remy LeBeau became instant bad boy fan-favorites when they leaped into the X-Men universe in the 1990’s.

Both rogues are headlining X-Men spinoff this year. Ryan Reynolds return in Deadpool smash box-office records. Channing Tatum is scheduled to play Gambit later this year.

Marvel will unleash Deadpool vs. Gambit: Wild Cards by writers Ben Acker and Ben Blacker and artist Danilo Beyruth.

HOMETOWN HEROES Celebrates Seattle Independent Artists

Seattle is famous for coffee, rock and roll, rain and the pioneering spirit of independent comics.

Local fans and visitors are invited to a one-night free event celebrating the spirit of independent artists and Seattle’s underground comic book community.

Hometown Heroes is Friday, April 8th at 1927 Events just steps away from Zanadu Comics.

Creators Casey Silver and Dimi Macheras (80% Studios, creators of Guttertown Massive) formed the event out of a desire to connect creators, readers and the stories that bond them in a new way. This one night only event aims to provide a stage upon which multiple aspects of local Seattle culture, not just comics, can be represented through the art of these artists. DC Rebirth revealed.

Let the speculation begin…again.

DC Comics revealed the new lineup of comics starting with a huge DC Comics Rebirth one-shot by Geoff Johns arriving in May.

Aside from the creative lineups for the new number ones (except for Action and Detective which go back to original numbering) the announcement sparks a ton of questions about the fate of certain characters and hints at a change in status quo.
