The Marvel Universe ends.
Insane battles begin.
The Secret Wars event will give us a new Battleworld, with heroes and villains from across multiple Marvel universes.
Marvel announced Secret Wars: Battleworld, a tie-in limited series with outrageous match-ups where the impossible becomes possible.
“You want to see the 1602 version of Punisher fight the 2099 version of Iron Man? Muskets versus the 1990’s version of the future! We can even have the same characters from different worlds fight. I’m sure readers have been dreaming of seeing a dozen different versions of Howard the Duck fight. Well, guess what? It’s completely possible in this series!” Editor Jon Moisan told Marvel.com.
The editor said this book is an opportunity to recruit new talent with outrageous fights to plot and draw.
“When I told Josh Williamson and Ed Brisson what the project was, they jumped at the chance to get their hands on all the craziness that BATTLEWORLD has to offer,” he says. “I also got James Stokoe to sign up to do a story as well as a variant cover for every issue. He actually sent over his outline this morning and I can’t say much yet, but I’ll tease that an Egyptian Silver Surfer may or may not show up.”
Moisan said to watch for every M.O.D.O.K. ever in the first issue.
