Readers are hit with shock and awe as writer Jason Aaron’s list of crimes rises with Original Sin #3.

  • He killed The Watcher.
  • He turned The Orb into an awesome villain.
  • He’s unleashed secrets to big, heroes are ready to fight and kill their allies.
  • He’s turned a fan-favorite hero into a cold blooded murderer.

There’s a spoiler alert on the way but here’s what we know so far that’s not too spoilery…

The Watcher was the dead. Thor discovered the body.
Uatu’s eyes were snatched out of his head.

The Watcher’s collection of weapons and artifacts have been stolen.
Nick Fury assembled a team to find the killer.
A mystery leader recruited a separate team of heroes to track the murderer.
The trail has led to the moon, other dimensions, underneath the Earth and on the far side of the galaxy with dead monsters, aliens and shell casings from giant irradiated bullets.

Right out oblivion, Jason Aaron brought back some odd villains including the Mindless Ones, Dr. Midas and the Exterminatrix (from the strange but excellent Marvel Boy series by Grant Morrison and J.G. Jones) and Orb.

Yes, you heard right The Orb, the old school Ghost Rider bad guy who wears a helmet that looks like giant eye on his head. The helmet can produce laser blasts, project illusions and hypnotize people.

The Orb may have become one of the infamous villains in the Marvel Universe after this series is over. In one shocking act he’s shattered heroes and destroyed friendships and alliances forever.

How you ask and what’s next?

Before I continue here’s a

Here it comes:

The heroes have tracked one of The Watcher’s eyes to Orb. The odd villain called the eye a “bomb full of secrets” just before he blew it up.

The Watcher saw all. Uatu’s alien eyes are vaults full of secrets he’s witnessed. Now the eye is destroyed, the secrets are out and it’s as if horrible memories have just been downloaded into the brains of Marvel’s heroes like a knife in the head.
In The Avengers we already know Captain America remembers having his memory wiped by Dr. strange under an agreement with Iron Man, Black Panther, Reed Richards and Namor last year in the pages of New Avengers.

What did Tony Stark do that suddenly makes the Hulk want to smash him…again?
What do Spider-Man and Luke Cage remember?

Thor suddenly learns he has a sister?

Daredevil discovers a horrible secret about his mother?

And that’s all just from one of The Watcher’s eyes. Who has the other? What secrets does it hold?

All these revelations and more will be explored in Original Sin tie-in books.

But the biggest shock of all…

This deserves a second SPOILER ALERT!!!

What did Bucky Barnes remember or is the killer?
The Winter Soldier confronts Nick Fury…and blows his head off!!!

The master spy has his share of secrets but The Watcher saw all and now all is revealed. What did Nick Fury do the make Bucky want to kill him? Is Fury really dead?

Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato spin a gripping murder mystery on a cosmic level with conspiracies within conspiracies. Consider your mind blown as every hero and the entire Marvel Universe is twisted, ripped and shredded.

It’s a testament to the power of the characters and Aaron’s storytelling ability that he can take a murder mystery concept and a 75 year old universe and create an epic that shatters senses, punches you in the gut and make you feel like you’re really learning the darkest truths about these heroes for the first time.

Original Sin continues.
