Hugh Jackman asked fans what they want to see in his final film as he plays Wolverine one last time.

Jackman and The Wolverine director James Mangold will reunite for the sequel scheduled for 2017.

The previous X-Man solo film was based on the classic limited series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.

What fan input or comics stories will Jackman, Mangold and producers use as inspiration for Jackman’s final turn as X-Men?

Here are three stories for your consideration:

Wolverine and Kitty Pryde. This was our first reaction and earlier this year it was one of our 15 geek wishes for 2015. This limited series is also by Claremont and takes Logan back to Japan to face his old mentor Ogun who has become a demonic force.

Instead of romantic leading lady, this story could focus on Logan’s sidekick/foster father friendship with Kitty Pryde who is possessed by Ogun and develops into what would become her “Shadowcat” persona. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) was put to rest. Mariko could be part of the story but I’d like to see a different take on Wolverine without a love interest. Over the years Logan has been a father figure to Kitty, Jubilee, Armor but it’s always been Kitty. You can never go wrong with Claremont.

Death of Wolverine. Marvel actually killed off Logan last year and he’s still dead in comics. Logan lost his healing factor in “Killable” and in a four-part epic, he from Canada to Madripoor to Japan to a brand new Weapon X facility, where he made an ultimate sacrifice to stop the new program.

We’ve seen Wolverine without his healing factor in the last film, but to see Logan revisit his past, all his enemies, allies and loves one last time would be a poignant and powerful showcase for Jackman. Producers could lure Page for Logan’s journey to Japan, Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed/Sabretooth and Halle Berry as Storm for Jackman’s final adventure.

In the comics, Logan and Storm became lovers just as he went out on his final adventure. This could be the story that introduces Daken, Wolverine’s son and X-23, the clone “daughter” of Logan who will become the All-New Wolverine this Fall.

Old Man Logan. Wolverine is the last hero standing in this epic future tale by Mark Millar. The villains won and rule North America. The few remaining heroes are in hiding. Logan is married with kids struggling to survive.Logan accepts one final mission and goes a road trip with a now-blind Hawkeye.

Wolverine is dead in comics but Old Man Logan will return this Fall. When the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now relaunches, Old Man Logan will join the Extraordinary X-Men and star in his own solo series, both by Jeff Lemire.
