Olivia Munn is mutating from comic book and gaming geek to a full on X-Woman.
Bryan Singer announced Olivia Munn is playing Betsy Braddock in X-Men: Apocalypse via Instagram.
Betsy Braddock becomes the telepathic ninja known as Psylocke.
In comics Betsy is a British model and sister to Captain Britain. In the 90’s Betsy’s body was transformed into that of an Asian woman and she began to focus her telepathic power into a psychic knife and katana as she became a martial arts master. In short – Psychic Ninja Warrior!
Munn joins Lana Condor as Jubilee as new mutants in the upcoming sequel which also includes new actors in younger versions of Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and Angel.
Singer revealed last week what looks like Archangel, the adult version of the founding X-Man with metal wings. This version of Warren Worthington became lovers with Betsy and joined Wolverine’s Uncanny X-Force in the fight against Apocalypse.
Maybe this could lead to a reunion with her Magic Mike co-star. Channing Tatum is playing Gambit in his own solo movie in 2016.
