A new team will make a killer debut in Squadron Supreme #1 by James Robinson next month.
Killer?
Marvel revealed an iconic character will be killed by this team in the first issue.
Hyperion, Dr. Spectrum, Power Princess, Nighthawk and Blur are all survivors of a lost Earth during Secret Wars. These refugees will band together to protect the only Earth left – by any means necessary.
Marvel shared new art by Leonard Kirk from the first issue.
It got us thinking…who will the Squadron target next?
Even though Robinson already revealed the first victim of the team’s justice we still want to give you a SPOILER ALERT!
If you don’t want to know the identity of the character killed in issue one stop reading now.
OK
Here it comes:
The first target:
Namor the Sub-Mariner is a dead man. Namor is responsible for the death of Doctor Spectrum’s reality. As you can see all of Atlantis will face the Squadron’s wrath but Namor will die.
After killing this former Avengers, Defender, X-Man and Illuminati member who else will be a target of “Supreme justice?”
Thanos and the Black Order
The Mad God of Titan may finally get to worship Death with the ultimate sacrifice. When the Illuminati would not take extreme measures to save Earth, Namor formed an unholy alliance with Thanos, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glave (more suspects from this group to come!) who unleashed hell on Earth during Infinity as Thanos searched for his son.
Maximus the Mad
The genius Inhuman joined The Cabal and helped wipe out realities so he shares the guilt. With two Inhumans books (Uncanny, All-New) and the race’s importance to Agents of SHIELD and Marvel movies, having the team target Black Bolt’s brother could bring them conflict with the Inhumans.
Black Swan
Princess of a rival Earth and lone survivor after it was destroyed in an earlier incursion, she manipulated the Illuminati and later joined The Cabal
The Maker
Reed Richards of the Ultimate Universe is one of the few survivors of that dead reality now fighting the new New Avengers.
Doctor Doom
Before Secret Wars, Namor pleaded with Doom to find an alternative other than the slaughter of worlds being carried out by Thanos and The Cabal. Arrogant Doom turned him down. Doom survived the Final Incursion and formed Battleworld but his power as “God” of this remnant reality is fading. Somehow Doom is young again and helping Tony Stark in the new Invincible Iron Man. Will the Squadron find Doom’s guilty of not helping Namor stop The Cabal?
Other heroes will not like their methods. The Squadron is already sizing up their competition. They will get results, revenge and enforce their Supreme justice starting next month.
