Revelations in this week’s Extraordinary X-Men #3 and All-New X-Men #1 spell out the fate of Scott Summers.

Cyclops is missing in action from the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now following after the Secret Wars finale.

The Terrigen Cloud creating new Inhumans is killing and sterilizing mutants. Storm created X-Haven to protect mutants her team has rescued. Beast is in the cast of Uncanny Inhumans trying to find a cure. Several mutants and Medusa talked about what Cyclops “did” that caused a rift between the groups.

Now we know what Scott Summers did and the price he paid.

Before we continue here’s a..

SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not read Extraordinary X-Men#2,#3  and All-New X-Men #1 yet stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

In the last issue, Storm revealed Cyclops is dead. This week in All-New X-Men #1 by Dennis Hopeless, Laura also says Cyclops is dead and young Scott Summers is missing. In this week’s Extraordinary issue by Jeff Lemire, young Jean Grey delivers a bombshell to readers as she tries to convince Old Man Logan to join the team.

Jean reveals Cyclops is dead and “he attacked the Inhumans–it was bad.”

A full blown X-Men vs Inhumans war seems imminent. Tensions are high as the genetic phenomenon that’s increasing the Inhuman ranks has put the mutants on the fast track to extinction again.

When we last saw Cyclops in Uncanny X-Men #600, he rallied a massive group of mutants in what turned out to be a peaceful demonstration in Washington, D.C.

The new books are set eight months after the Secret Wars finale.

Why would Scott attack the Inhumans?

Did Cyke lose it after everything he did to save the mutant race only to see them on the road to extinction again?

Did he suspect a cure for Terrigenesis was possible inside New Attilan or be forced to think the Inhumans were responsible for the new threat killing mutants?

Who killed Cyclops? Black Bolt?

What about Emma Frost? Scott’s former lover  is another mutant missing from the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now.

As we also learned this week, the dead Scott Summers has inspired a new movement. “The Ghosts of Cyclops” is a “mutant rights movement” that young Scott is tracking when he’s attacked by a squad of them wearing masks with the iconic red X Cyclops wore during the Brian Bendis Uncanny X-Men Revolution run.

Hopeless is steering the new adventures of young Scott and his team. Lemire is showing how Storm is coping with the aftermath of Cyke’s actions and the race to save mutants from the Terrigen threat. Charles Soule is the force behind Uncanny & All-New Inhumans.

It’s hard to believe such an iconic character as Scott could just die off-panel. Who will reveal what really happened to Cyke and will the truth be the spark that fires up an X-Men/Inhumans war in 2016?

Do you think Cyke is really dead?
