Things get even worse for the X-Men following Secret Wars including a cold war with the Inhumans.
Extraordinary X-Men by Jeff Lemire will be the new flagship book while long-running Uncanny X-Men goes in a bold new direction.
You noticed there’s no X-Force on the list of new books this fall. With a team including Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, Fantomex and Psylocke – Uncanny X-Men is the force enemies of mutants will have to reckon with.
Cullen Bunn (Magneto) and veteran X-Men artist Greg Land will be the creative team.
Marvel Editor-In-Chief explained the shift for the longest-running X-title:
“The X-Men find themselves in a unique situation after “Secret Wars.” They live in a world that not only hates and fears them, but — thanks to the Terrigen Mists — is a lot more dangerous. The new Uncanny team is resolved to protect mutants by all means necessary, whatever the cost. What lines are each of these characters willing to cross to save their kind? Well, look at that roster. I mean, they’re even more hardcore than the X-Force.” Alonso told Comic Book Resources.
The new books are set eight months after the Secret Wars finale. Beast will be a member of Uncanny Inhumans, Cyclops and other iconic X-Men are M.I.A. as the stories pick up.
