A big news weekend for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans got even bigger.
At Marvel’s Next Big Thing panel: the publisher revealed it’s recruited two comic book all-stars for brand new S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 based on the television series.
Writer Mark Waid (Daredevil, Captain America) with artists Carlos Pachecho, Alan Davis, Chris Sprouse and more to come.
“This is S.H.I.E.L.D., the tv show with an unlimited budget,” said Waid, who expressed how he liked the fact that Coulson is a superhero fan.
As you can see from Mike Deodato’s cover, Agent Coulson will recruit heroes from across the Marvel Universe for the team’s missions.
Waid said every Marvel character is a potential S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and he’ll introduce new characters.
Today’s news comes after an earlier panel revealed Lucy Lawless will play a veteran S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Reed Diamond will the play the main villain next season and Bobbi Morse (aka Mockingbird) will appear in Season Two.
