The chaos and carnage unleashed by the Avengers greatest enemy will lead to new beginnings for some fan favorite characters. Marvel reveals the first series to spin out of the Age of Ultron event! Avengers AI by writer Sam Humphries and artists Andre Lima Araujo launches in July according to USA Today.
The team includes Vision, Victor Mancha of Runaways, Hank Pym, a new character named Alexis, a Doombot and Monica Chang. Vision is the “son” of Ultron. Pym is the insane android’s creator. This is a 616 Universe version of Chang. In Ultimate Comics Ultimates (Humphries is in the process of handing that book to Joshua Fialkov) Chang was S.H.I.E.L.D. commander.
“He comes back after having transformed himself, after upgrading himself, and now that he is in the age of artificial intelligence in the Marvel Universe, he has a new role to play,” Humphries said of the newest incarnation of the Vision, currently seen terrorizing his fellow Avengers in the pages of “Age of Ultron. “He’s not just a bridge between humanity and A.I. but he is a leader. All of a sudden, he’s not just the robot in the room — he’s an A.I. in a world of A.I. and humans.”
Humphries will introduce a new bad guy, Dimitrious, who is rallying the A.I.’s of Earth against humanity.
Avengers AI launches this July.
