As you recover from the astonishing trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past and recent news by director Bryan Singer about new mutants in the film you may wondering:

Who’s That?

Singer confirmed via Twitter ahead that Warpath, Sunspot and Ink will appear in the movie joining the previously announced Bishop, Quicksilver and Blink.

At :38 in the trailer you see shots of Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath and Blink in what looks like the dark future in which the cast of the original X trilogy are fighting to survive.

Bishop (played by Omar Sy) has the mutant power to absorb and re-channel energy. Lucas Bishop is a “mutant cop” and officer in the Xavier’s Security Enforcers. Bishop went back in time to join the X-Men of the past and change his future. Bishop is currently featured in Uncanny X-Force.

Sunspot (real name: Roberto Da Costa) is a Brazilian mutant able to absorb solar energy and convert it to physical strength but turns his body becomes a dark energy when he uses it. No word on if this “sunspot” effect will be used in the movie. Roberto is a founding member of the New Mutants and is currently an Avenger in the comics.

Warpath (real name: James Proudstar) is one of my favorites and rivals Wolverine in his savagery. Proudstar’s brother blamed Professor X for the death of his brother, John, a fallen X-Man named Thunderbird. The angry Native American joined the Hellions before making peace and becoming an X-Man (in Rise and Fall of the Shiar Empire) then a member of Wolverine’s covert X-Force.

Blink (real name: Clarice Ferguson) is a mutant teleporter who I’ve called the “James Dean” of X-Men. Originally part of Generation X, Clarice “died” only to be resurrected.

The big surprise is Ink, a short lived character from the short-lived Young X-Men series. Eric Gitter was a reforming criminal with power connected to iconic tattoos on his body.
