A mystery man in Ant-Man?
Martin Donovan (Weeds, The Lottery, Inherent Vice, Insomnia, The Opposite of Sex) is joining the cast of Marvel’s next big solo adventure according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Donovan’s role is a secret but “pivotal to the story” according to the report.
Paul Rudd is playing Scott Lang, the second man to have the code-name in Marvel Comics history. Lang is a thief who steals the technology and “Pym particles” allowing him to shrink to insect size from Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas. Corey Stoll (The Strain, House of Cards) is playing the main villain Darren Cross who will evolve into Yellowjacket.
Could a veteran character actor like Donovan be playing someone like Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) who could be the characters to carry through the next phase of Marvel movies? Stay tuned.
Ant-Man opens July 17, 2015.
