Uncanny Avengers #13 by Gerry Duggan and Ryan Stegman picked up with Deadpool’s reaction to Bruce Banner’s death and Hawkeye’s role.

But the second half was packed with possible hints of what’s to come in the aftermath of Civil War II. What does Cable really know about the future?

Captain America (Hydra sleeper Steve Rogers) was given an audience with Ulysses as Medusa watched. What did the Inhuman reveal to Rogers and what could it mean to several Marvel storylines as the universe marches to Inhumans vs. X-Men?

Could Cable be the mutant who finally triggers all-out war between mutants and Inhumans?

Before we continue here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not read Uncanny Avengers #13  stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

The Inhuman with the power to predict the future shared a vision of Rogers’ team and a warning about Cable and the X-Men.

“The Children of the Atom…will WAGE A WAR. The son of Cyclops doesn’t belong here. And here’s keeping the wrong company right now. Your team isn’t very honest with each other.”

Does this mean Ulysses is seeing the near future when Inhumans vs. X-Men erupts later this year?

When Rogers confronts Cable the son of Cyclops responds…”we can talk about who knows what about the future.”

Cable was raised in the distant future ruled by Apocalypse and just did a jaunt into the near future.

Does Cable already know the impact of the mutant/Inhuman war?

Does Cable know Steve is under the influence of Hydra?

Cable leaves Cap to go on a mission to address a threat posed by the Terrigen Mist and boards his plane where Rogue is waiting with two more mystery mutants on board.

Longtime X-villains Sebastian Shaw and Toad are Cable and Rogue’s new partners on this mission. Toad is an original member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He reformed, worked as a janitor at the Jean Grey School and fell in love with Husk during Jason Aaron’s Wolverine and the X-Men run. Toad recently turned up in All-New X-Men kidnapping young Cyclops.

Shaw is best known as the Black King of the Hellfire Club. Shaw is making a comeback with brief but potentially pivotal appearances. Shaw was revealed to be a member of a cable of evil business leaders in Mighty Thor #8 and Uncanny X-Men #6 and most recently seen in the new Hellfire Club by Cullen Bunn.

Is this the birth of a new X-team? Is it Cable that starts the war with the Inhumans? Does Nathan know Steve’s Hydra secret?

This alliance of heroes and villains continues in Uncanny Avengers #14 on September 14.
