After the announcement of a new Black Panther ongoing series by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze, we’re speculating on which villains will face the hero on the big screen.

Chadwick Boseman will play T’Challa, heir and protector of Wakanda.

Black Panther is a genius like Tony Stark, a skilled fighter and strategist like Steve Rogers with the regal air and responsibilities of Thor…and he’s a badass.

Here are T’Challa greatest comic foes who could join the rogues of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron as one of the men who get out of Wakanda alive. The mercenary was left with a missing limb which could set the stage for him getting a bionic arm holding his sonic weapon like his comic book counterpart. Klaw is a sinister scientist who steals vibranium (found only in Wakanda) to power his device. In comics Klaw killed T’Challa’s father igniting a lifelong blood fued.

Erik Killmonger is a Wakandan warrior exiled from the country after his father was killed after an attack by Klaw. Killmonger is T’Challa’s is nearly physical and mental equal who used his genius intellect plotting revenge against T’Challa.

White Wolf is T’Challa’s adopted older brother and onetime leader of Wakanda’s secret police. When Black Panther learned his brother was using torture and assassinations in the name of state security, he fired and exiled him, launching a bitter rivalry.

Man-Ape is in just because we want to see big white gorillas!  Seriously though, M’Baku was second only to T’Challa as their country’s greatest warrior. M’Baku gained his mutated powers after eating white gorilla flesh and bathing in blood then allied with the White Gorilla Cult to usurp the throne. With a supernatural powered villain like this, we could see T’Challa team with Doctor Strange.

The new Black Panther series arrives this Spring, while the hero (Chadwick Boseman) makes his film debut in Captain America: Civil War in May.
