The CW network’s roster of DC heroes and villains is about to get even bigger.
Producers of Arrow and The Flash are planning a spinoff featuring characters from both shows according to Deadline.
Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer aka The Atom, Victor Garber who played Dr. Martin Stein of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/Black Canary will be in the cast.
Who else could join the expanding CW/DC empire and joined the spinoff?
Vixen. Mari Jiwe McCabe is an African woman with the power to mimic the abilities of any animal via a totem. Mari escaped treachery in her village to start a modeling career and build her fortune then went back to claim her family’s totem. Vixen will star in a web animated series set in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash. The success of the project will likely mean Mari could join the live action television series.
Maxwell Lord. This slick entrepreneur helped form the Justice League International, became Black King of the superspy agency Checkmate and ultimately a sworn enemy of all superheroes. We picked Lord as a perfect villain for the Justice League movie but the morally challenged tycoon turned mind controlling manipulator of heroes would be a foe to tie in all The CW heroes.
Zatanna. We picked her to join the Justice Leagueu movie or star in her own CW series. She travels the world as a magician in the traditional costume but she’s also a skilled sorceress. Zatanna shared a flirtation with Barry Allen and gave up on pursuing Bruce Wayne conceding he was more devoted to being Batman. In the comics Zatanna and Atom were part of a celebrated Justice League of America lineup and she often worked with Black Canary.
Manhunter. Kate Spencer is a federal prosecutor who takes the law into her own hands after seeing guilty criminals avoid punishment. After the villain Copperhead avoids the death penalty and kills guards in his escape. Kate steals a suit from the evidence room, tracks down and kills the villain. She would later blackmail a former weapons manufacturer into giving up high-tech upgrades. Kate’s secret life as a masked vigilante is challenge while balancing her career, son and ex-husband.
