Matthew Vaughn is moving from the Children of the Atom to Marvel’s First Family as producer of the Fantastic Four reboot!

Fox’s Marvel Movie Mastermind Mark Millar shared the news via Twitter that the director of X-Men: First Class will produce the FF reboot to be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle.)

Fox hold the film rights to Marvel’s X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises. Millar was hired as the Creative Consultant to the properties. Vaughn is producing X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Here’s my theory:

I think the seeds of the FF reboot will be in the next X-Men film and set up a possible team-up between the teams!

In the comic books – Days of Future Past introduces a future timeline with Rachel, daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey. Rachel is in love with Franklin Richards, son of Reed and Sue of the FF. The X-Men of the future travel into the past to alter the timeline. Fox could then have X-Men and FF characters guest star in each franchise – like the Avengers movies.

So the big question: Do you reboot the FF with a brand new origin story or do you have an established team with Reed and Sue already married?
