Matt Smith has joined the cast of Terminator: Genesis according the Deadline.
The actor who played the Eleventh Doctor Who will play a major character in the Paramount/Skydance franchise reboot and the role will expand in the second and third chapters of the planned reboot.
Smith joins Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Sarah Conner, Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Conner and Jai Courtney (Divergent) as Kyle Reese. Dayo Okeniyi will play the son creator of the cyberborg technology in Judgement Day. Arnold will be back, too.
Terminator: Genesis is schedule for July 1, 2015. Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) is directing.
