ABC is closing a deal to produce a pilot for an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood according the Variety.
Palicki and Blood as agent Barbara “Bobbi” Morse and Blood as mercenary Lance Hunter would star in Marvel’s Most Wanted.
ABC put a halt to the pilot earlier this year.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski co-created the project for Marvel and ABC Studios, co-writing the pilot. They will serve as showrunners and exec producers together with Marvel head of television Jeph Loeb also exec producing.
Don’t call it spinoff.
The report says the new series will be a new project focusing on new adventures of the two main characters.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D returns for a third season this Fall, followed by a second season of Agent Carter. ABC and Marvel are working with acclaimed director John Ridley on a top-secret project.
In comics Morse is the ex-wife of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye of The Avengers.
