Marvel shared the first trailer for THE INHUMANS after this first poster below of Black Bolt, Medusa and Maximus.
The King, Queen and his treacherous brother and more of the Royal Family will hit IMAX cinema screens before joining the ABC lineup. Longtime fans were rewarded with the first appearance of Marvel’s most famous dog!
Civil War stirs among a secret civilization on the moon that will lead to Earth and a giant dog will steal the show!
Here’s the trailer then we’ll break it down:
Who’s Who:
Anson Mount is Black Bolt, King of this Inhuman civilization hidden on the moon known as Attilan. He has the power to shatter a mountain with just a whisper so he can’t speak unless he’s attacking.
Iwan Rheon is his brother, known in comics as Maximus the Mad. This treacherous sibling has mind control abilities.
Serinda Swan is Queen Medusa, the long red hair is her weapon. It can grow, grip, expand.
Ken Leung is Karnak, Black Bolt’s cousin, closest advisor with the ability to see the fault in all things – people, plans, structures, everything.
Eme Ikwuakor is Gorgon – another cousin of Black Bolt, member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs and hooved feet he can generate seismic waves with a stomp.
Isabelle Cornish is Crystal – Medusa’s sister with the ability to control the elements. In the comics Crystal dated Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, married Quicksilver of the Avengers and share a daughter named Luna, the granddaughter of Magneto. Crystal was also a member of the Avengers.
Mike Moh is Triton. Black Bolt’s cousin. His gift is his fish-like ability to live underwater.
Sonya Balmores will play Auran – Head of the Royal Guards on Attilan.
Ellen Woglom is playing an undisclosed character described as “smart, intense, and focused—so focused that oftentimes, social skills take a back seat. Her job at a private aerospace company is her life, second only to her passion for all things space and lunar. She’s primed to be swept up in an adventure.”
Lockjaw “the time dog” is Crystal’s 2,000 lb canine companion; he is a two-thousand-pound dog (yes, a dog!) with the ability to teleport.
The first two episodes of Marvel’s Inhumans will be shot and appear in IMAX screens September 1st before an eight episode run on ABC starting September 29th.
If you’ve been watching AGENTS OF SHIELD you know Inhumans are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where a secret city of Inhumans lived after undergoing the process of Terrigenesis. Exposure to Terrigen triggers ancient alien DNA in humans, they are cocooned and emerge with new abilities and some with strange new appearances. Terrigen in the food chain caused the creation of more Inhumans across Earth.
The Inhumans are the result of the Kree coming to Earth to experiment on ancient man in order to create a warrior race for their battles with other alien empires.
In the comics the Inhumans of Attilan once lived on Earth in the Himalayas before moving to the “blue area” of the moon.
You may remember in the post-credit scene of last season’s AGENTS OF SHIELD finale, Coulson was in space. In the final shot was Coulson looking at Attilan?
