“Dead No More” is the proclamation on Marvel’s Twitter feed today.
What could it mean?
Someone or something is dead no more according to this Marvel teaser.
This comes after the revelation that a major character will die in Civil War II and the day before Secret Wars #9 arrives tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s finale is the final battle with Doctor Doom on Battleworld that leads to the current All-New, All-Different Marvel Now reality set eight months after the conclusion. In Jonathan Hickman’s final chapter, Reed Richards, Namor and Black Panther are leading the fight against “God” Doom who created Battleworld in the remnants of Marvel’s dead multiverse.
In Civil War II by Brian Michael Bendis, Iron Man and Captain Marvel will lead opposite sides over a new character who can see crimes before they happen and how heroes should use this ability. A New York Daily News reporter got an exclusive look at the process at how editors and writers decided who to kill during one of the publisher’s famously secret creative editorial retreats.
Could the real original Wolverine be coming back from the dead? Old Man Logan escaped Battleworld to join the new reality and X-23 just stepped up as the All-New Wolverine so it’s unlikely Logan will be resurrected.
Before we reveal our next candidates for resurrection we want to give a SPOILER ALERT in case you haven’t been reading the new Extraordinary X-Men and Squadron Supreme.
Here we go….
Namor was killed off by the Squadron Supreme.
Cyclops (possessed by Phoenix) and Doctor Strange were killed by Doctor Doom in Secret Wars but survived. Scott is now a result of Mister Sinister’s “Inhuman” experiment to save mutants from Terrigen.
Stay tuned for updates and speculation!
Of all Marvel’s dead heroes…who would you want to see return?
