Peter Parker is back in Amazing Spider-Man #1 this week. It’s just one of many Spidey projects spinning (Learning to Crawl, Original Sin, Infinite Comics, Spider-Verse) from Marvel. New details and teasers were revealed at the Spider-Verse C2E2 panel.

Dan Slott, Editor Nick Lowe, artist Ramon Perez were among the panel guests. Here are major highlights from the big Spidey book coming:

“Amazing Spider-Man immediately picks up with Superior left off and it is the start of something big! It introduces you to the villains in the story: Black Cat and Electro,” said Lowe.

Spider-Man will tie into Original Sin – the event series focusing on the murder of The Watcher and his greatest secrets stolen.

“We find out that someone else was bitten by the spider that Peter Parker was bitten by and she is going to be a major character in this story for a long time to come,” said Lowe.

Dan Slott revealed the other victim of the bite is named Silk. Slott isn’t just relaunching Peter Parker’s future but taking us into his hidden past.

Amazing Spider-Man: Learning to Crawl by Slott & Ramon Perez takes place between Amazing Fantasy #15 and original Amazing Spider-Man #5

“Another huge story for Spider-Man is a look back at Peter’s origin filling in the gaps called Learning to Crawl,” said Perez.

“You get to see things you never saw like Uncle Ben’s funeral. You get to see a new villain that you’ve never met from Spider-Man’s earliest days called Clash,” added Lowe.

Coming up in two weeks is the first four chapters of Amazing Spider-Man Infinite Comics called Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?

“Spider-Man doesn’t know who he is, he doesn’t know where he is and he doesn’t know why he’s robbing a bank,” said writer Josh Fialkov, “He doesn’t remember Uncle Ben. He just remembers that he’s a guy in a leotard with super powers.”

After appearing in Superior Spider-Man, Miguel O’Hara is back in a brand new
Spider-Man 2099 in July written by creator Peter David with art by Will Sliney.

“Spider-Man 2099 is stuck in the present and can’t go back to the past. This is an incredible story Peter is sculpting,” said Lowe.
Every Spider character will appear in Spider-Verse in Amazing Spider-Man #9-#14.

“Spider-Verse is our huge Spider-Man event of this year. Your first taste will be this coming Saturday at Free Comic Book Day. In the back of a Guardians comic you will get a sneak peek,” said Lowe.

The FCBD issue will include Spider-Man 1602 and the return of the villain Morlun.

“Electric Company Spider-Man will be appearing in the Spider-Verse,” said Lowe. Arana, Spider-Woman, Ben Reilly, Miles Morales will appear.

Spider-Man Family Business, the original graphic novel with Peter Parker’s sister, is in continuity so “it’s not impossible that Parker’s sister will be involved in the ASM continuity,” teased Lowe.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos arrives Wednesday.

Stay tuned for more from C2E2.
