Marvel’s biggest story of all time gets even bigger.

Marvel announced the massive Secret Wars event by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic will continue with one more issue. The team will be able to finish their “cataclysmic story” as intended.

Secret Wars #9 will arrive in December.

The All-New, All-Different Marvel Now launches in October, set 8 months after the finale of Secret Wars with several new books and number one issues.

“This extra issue will not affect any of the new launches as of All-New, All-Different Marvel. But there might be a surprise or two left over from Battleworld you weren’t expecting. In fact, like the the original Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, some of those puzzle pieces will hit the Marvel Universe before the event concludes. But if you want to see how they all fit together, you don’t want to miss the last few issues.” said David Gabriel, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing in the press release.

Secret Wars was the final phase of Hickman’s Avengers run ending with the destruction of the Marvel 616, Ultimate and all universes. Doctor Doom built a Battleworld with remnants of past time periods of Marvel history where he rules like a God.

Certain heroes and villains survived “the end” including Reed Richards are now taking the fight to God Doom.

Reed, Susan Storm Richards and Doom are among the missing characters from the upcoming relaunch. This extra final issue may reveal their fate.
