MARVEL ORIGINAL SIN Reveals ANGELA’S Family

Original Sin #0 by Mark Waid and Jim Cheung hit this week. It’s the prologue to Marvel’s big event in which The Watcher is murdered, his secrets are stolen and the ramifications will rock heroes, villains and the entire Marvel Universe. Original Sin #1 by Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato hits next month.

 

Writers Mark Waid and James Robinson and Editors Mike Marts, Nick Lowe, Jordan White, Jake Thomas revealed the Original Sin limited series, tie-ins and shocking new roles for fan-favorite characters at the Original Sin panel at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. Here are the highlights from Marvel Original Sin liveblog at C2E2:

 

Old school, original Nick Fury takes the lead in trying to figure out who killed The Watcher and stole his eyes, which means all the alien’s secrets.

Original Sins will be a companion anthology book featuring  Deathlok, Young Avengers, Lockjaw, Black Knight, J Jonah Jameson and many more.

Charles Soule is writing Original Sins #3 which includes Black Bolt which ties into Soule’s Inhuman series and the new character: Lineage.

Amazing Spider-Man #4 and #5 will have the story that “Peter Parker wasn’t the only one bit by the spider that gave him his powers,” said Spider-Man Editor Nick Lowe. Marvel promised to reveal more about Silk in the Spider-verse panel.

 

James Robinson on  Golden Age Legacy in All-New Invaders and Fantastic Four:

“The Invaders allowed me to introduce a new character which is the granddaughter of Golden Girl. Her name is Supreme Radiant Friend.” said James Robinson, “She gets bombarded with memories about the war to prevent the bomb dropping.”

Ben Grimm finds out that his best chance to turn back to human, was ruined forever by Johnny Storm. Reed and Johnny knew and didn’t tell Ben.

Ben’s happy as the Thing, but he struggles with the fact that his friends kept this from him. What does he do next. This will “tie in directly into Ben Grimm becoming a murderer,” said Robinson.

Iron Man and Hulk:
Tony Stark and Bruce Banner learn a secret about the origins of the Hulk at the core of their Original Sin story.

“Now we have Hulk and Iron Man who share a secret that’s been revealed from their past,” said Mark Waid, “At the end of it, this will change the nature of the Tony and Banner relationship for a good long time to come.”

Daredevil #6 is DD’s Original Sin tie-in. By Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez in which why Sister Maggie left Matt Murdock. “In Original Sin we find out why she left. Why she left changes the reason for everything he does,” said Waid.
Original Sin connects to Avengers, New Avengers:
“In the Avengers Original Sin tie-in, Dr. Strange wiped Captain America’s mind. This story starts a big ball rolling that’s going to have huge consequences,” said Lowe.

Avengers #29 by Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Yu ties into Original Sin with INFINITE AVENGERS in Avengers #29-34

“Hickman is going to set up some very huge things to come with Infinite Avengers,” said Lowe.

The X-Men tie-in is The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier.

“The secret that Charles Xavier was holding for so long is so dark and disturbing it will affect all the X-Men in different ways,” said Marts. Art for the Uncanny X-Men Original Sin issues by Kris Anka and Chris Bachalo.

Deadpool #29 – the Original Sin tie-in

“We are going to finally reveal the secret of what happened to Deadpool’s family said Jordan White.

“Deadpool’s wife is archenemies with Dracula right now and while the secret is being revealed he’s going to be dealing with a bunch of vampires as well as getting help with killing them from Dazzler,” he added, “Dazzler denies Deadpool’s request for help, so obviously he goes back in time and grabs ’70s disco Dazzler to help.”

Nova Original Sin tie-ins are about the Black Novas and the history of Sam Alexander’s father.

“Who the Black Novas are isn’t quite as simple as what we’ve heard,” teased Lowe, “The Watcher is one of Nova’s best friends and when he learns about the Watcher’s death it’s going to have a huge impact on him as well.”

Mighty Avengers:
“We couldn’t let Deadpool have all the flashback fun so we have a crazy flashback with Mighty Avengers,” said Jake Thomas,”We’ll get to see Luke Cage’s dad, Blade and the Blue Marvel in the ’70s! We’re also bringing in Blade. What we learn is Blade’s history with Blue Marvel and Luke Cage’s papa which will lead to some repercussions in Mighty Avengers down the road.”

Thor, Loki and their SISTER:

Angela is the sister of Thor and Loki.

“We are going to learn about the 10th realm where Angela comes from and she is Odin’s daughter and Thor’s sister,” said Lowe.

Jason Aaron and Al Ewing will write Thor and Loki: The Tenth Realm.

“This is a story that Joe Quesada have a strong hand in and Angela is a character that’s very important to us. This is a huge story that’s going to change the Asgardians side in a very big way,” added Lowe.

Young Avengers:
“If you’re a big Young Avengers fan, it plays with their outsider nature in the Marvel Universe. It deals with the question of whose authority do you trust?” said Thomas.

Captain America and Bucky:
Winter Soldier: Bitter March is laying the foundation for the main Captain America book and “Winter Soldier has a part in solving the mystery with Nick Fury of who killed the Watcher,” said Lowe.

Original Sin #1 hits next month and the tie-ins begin in July.
