Marvel announced MARVEL COMICS #1000 in celebration of the publisher’s 80 years. This powerhouse issue features 80 creative teams including legendary icons and first-timers. The book will look back to MARVEL COMICS #1 published in 1939 before Marvel was even Marvel. It was called Timely Comics back then.
IMMORTAL HULK writer Al Ewing will be the primary writer of the story of MARVEL COMICS #1000 and will craft a few of the milestone issue’s stories. Legendary Alex Ross will create the cover. Marvel veterans including Gerry Conway, Walt Simonson and Roy Thomas and current creators will contribute. Marvel recruited talent outside of comics including filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
