Marvel announced big plans for the 50th Anniversary of S.H.I.E.L.D. at C2E2 with brand new one-shots and massive collections of great spy stories by legendary creators.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law Enforcement Division in Strange Tales # 135 in 1965. Nick Fury and his top agents leaped into Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. by Jim Steranko.

The legendary super spy agency now appears in S.H.I.E.L.D. by Mark Waid, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , Agent Carter and a third spinoff television series in the works plus Marvel’s Cinematic Universe including the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Now original S.H.I.E.L.D. case files will be declassified for readers to  go inside the covert organization’s history with two upcoming omnibuses:

S.H.I.E.L.D.: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OMNIBUS HARDCOVER collects the work of Lee, Kirby, Steranko, Roy Thomas, Dennis O’Neil, Archie Goodwin, Don Heck, Herb Trimpe, Sal Buscema, Barry Windsor-Smith, Howard Chaykin, and many more. The omnibus will include the STRANGE TALES stories along with the first NICK FURY, AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D. volume plus appearances in FANTASTIC FOUR, TALES OF SUSPENSE, AVENGERS, MARVEL SPOTLIGHT. This arrives in October.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. BY STAN LEE & JACK KIRBY: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION will debut as a trade paperback and include STRANGE TALES #135-150, FANTASTIC FOUR #21 and TALES OF SUSPENSE #78.

It’s not just a blast from the past. Marvel will publish one-shots starring Nick Fury, Mockingbird, Phil Coulson, Peggy Carter, Melinda May and Quake.

S.H.I.E.L..D. Editor Jon Moison reveals the lineup of creators he’s signed up for the one-shots:

“For the Nick Fury story, I’ve brought in David Walker who has worked up a really fun story involving time travel and the father-son dynamic between the two Nick Furys. Agent Carter’s special is going to shed some more light on her past and give some insight into her relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. That one will be bringing Kathryn Immonen back to Peggy’s world. For Agent May’s first ever comic book, I’ve brought in a relatively new writer to Marvel, Jody Houser, who really impressed me with her work on Orphan Black and Vertigo CMYK and I’m excited to see what she brings to the Marvel Universe. The Quake issue is being brought to life by the team of Matthew Rosenberg and Patrick Kindlon to fill-in some of [her] backstory and explore her relationship with her father and previously unseen mother. Finally, ‘New York Times’-Bestselling author Chelsea Cain will be making her Marvel debut to write a truly badass Mockingbird story that I think fans will really love.” Moison told Marvel.com.

Fan favorite Dum Dum Dugan will return in S.H.I.E.L.D. #9 by Al Ewing.

This week watch for Scarlet Witch to guest star in S.H.I.E.L.D. #5 and for Tuesday’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode to have a connection to Avengers: Age of Ultron opening Friday.
