Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg are teaming up to upgrade a classic television icon.
The team behind Lone Survivor will work together on the Six Billion Dollar Man for Dimension according to Deadline.
Berg will direct. Wahlberg will star as Steve Austin, a former astronaut turned into a cyborg secret agent with a bionic eye, arm and legs. Lee Majors played Austin in the 1970’s television series. Austin worked for O.S.I. the Office of Scientific Intelligence.
The series was based on the book Cyborg by Martin Caidin. The popular show spawned a spinoff, The Bionic Woman, starring Linsday Wagner as Jaime Sommers
Dynamite Entertainment publishes comic book adventures starring Austin and Sommers.
