Marvel fans have multiple reasons to “Assemble” at Emerald City Comicon. Stars of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. plus top comic book creators and a living legend arrive for the big event in Seattle this weekend.
Anthony Mackie of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hayley Atwell aka Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and Agent Carter are on the stellar list of celebrities.
Stan Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Hulk, makes a welcome return to the biggest celebration of comics and pop culture in the Pacific Northwest.
Atwell and Bennet are making their first official convention appearances at the Seattle event which has become a sold-out sensation bringing fans from across the county to Seattle. Both actresses are appearing Friday only.
Emerald City Comicon keeps the comic book in comicon with a huge roster of top creators. Marvel readers will get the chance to see Charles Soule and Steve McNiven (Death of Wolverine, Uncanny Inhumans) along with fan-favorite writers including Kieron Gillen (Angela: Asgard’s Assasin, Darth Vader) Rick Remember (All-New Captain America, Uncanny Avengers) and Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain Marvel).
Each day will feature a major comics centric panel: Breaking Into Comics the Marvel Way with Executive Editor Mike Marks and Vice-President C.B. Cebulski moderating with guests Uncanny X-Men artist Kris Anka, Inhuman artist Ryan Stegman, Punisher artist Mitch Gerads and Soule. These pros share stories of how to get in the door and on the radar for hopeful artists, writers and fans who just want the ultimate insider stories. Breaking Into Comics is Friday at 2pm in Hall C.
Hayley Atwell is here for Friday day only so mark your time for her panel at 3pm in the main hall. Atwell will answer fan questions about her breakout role as Peggy Carter in two Captain America movies and her own series Agent Carter. Atwell will reprise her role in Avengers: Age of Ultron this May.
Chloe Bennet takes the main stage at 6pm for all things humand and Inhuman! With the recent revelation that Agent Skye is an Inhuman, Bennet can discuss how her approaching to playing the hero is involving now Skye is the super powered Daisy Johnson aka Quake of Secret Warriors.
From Black Vortex to Secret Wars is Saturday’s big panel. Cebulski and Marts return with creators Kelly Sue DeConnick, Rick Remender and Charles Soule to answers questions about Marvel’s two big event books of 2015. In Secret Wars, the Marvel Universe will be destroyed and a new Battleworld emerges. Here’s your chance to ask about all the new tie-in books and maybe you’ll get a hint of what’s next after the Secret Wars finale. Catch this panel at 3pm in Hall C.
Clark Gregg aka Phil Coulson is the AGENT OF A.W.E.S.O.M.E. panel star at 6pm in the main hall. This is a must attend panel for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Gregg’s leading role in the series and his appearance in almost every Avengers movie. This will be Gregg’s first Emerald City Comicon appearance but he’s been in Seattle twice for the Seattle International Film Festival.
Stan Lee returns for all three days and special panel Sunday at 11am. The co-creator of some of the world’s most beloved heroes and scene stealing star with the best cameos in Marvel movies will answer your questions. Lee is always great fun with his incredible history and uncanny charm – Excelsior!
Marvel Animation presents a first look at the future of the studio and never-bef0re-seen episodes Sunday at noon in Hall C then in Marvel Next Big Thing at 2pm is literally the next big comics coming from the House of Ideas with Marts and Cebulski moderating with guests Kieron Gillen, Terry Dodson, Stacey Lee and Robbi Rodriguez. This is the hour to get the latest on brand new books like Star Wars, Spider-Gwen, Silk and more. Plus, the check the program guide for Marvel artists and writers appearing in other panels over the weekend.
Anthony Mackie is the big finale Sunday at 4pm. In Unleash the Falcon, the star will share how he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and what’s next for his fan-favorite character.
