Things goes from bad to worse for the X-Men when the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now launches.
How bad? Uncanny X-Men becomes a team of primarily bad guys and bad asses. Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso calls the new team “more hardcore than X-Force.”
While Storm leads Extraordinary X-Men, Magneto leads an Uncanny squad with Mystique, Sabretooth, Fantomex and Psylocke.
Writer Cullen Bunn (Magneto, Deadpool) revealed more details about the team’s mission, base and future:
“Many events (about which I am sworn to secrecy) have brought this team together and set them on their missions. We’ll explore how and why they came together, but not in the first few issues. We’re starting the story with most of the team already in the thick of it.
As for how this team operates, they do have a “headquarters” of sorts, but it is definitely not a school. They are frequently on the move, striking at threats to mutantkind, taking a very proactive approach to handling the threats facing mutantkind — and I don’t think these threats will be expected at all.” Bunn told Comic Book Resources.
With Uncanny going covert, Extraordinary still up in the air and All-New on a road trip, this could be the X-Men Exodus we speculated about back during AXIS. With mutants more hated and feared than ever, could the post-Secret Wars Marvel Universe mean homeless X-Men without a Jean Grey or Xavier School?
What happened in the 8 months after the Secret Wars finale to cause the disappearance of Cyclops and the world getting worse for mutants?
