Jean Grey’s X-Men get a surprise when a classic enemy appears, Beast is hiding a dark secret and Magneto reveals his hidden agenda.

Magneto kept secrets from Psylocke – and paid a deadly price – in the last Uncanny X-Men volume by Cullen Bunn.

The acclaimed writer is now heading up X-Men: Blue. Magneto’s secret is even bigger…with bigger repercussions if he succeeds.

Before we break down Magneto’s secret mission here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you have not read X-Men: Blue #1, #2 yet stop reading now and BAMF to your local comic book shop.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes.

It’s a thrill to see Jean Grey saying, “To Me, My X-Men” as team leader but will she regret aligning the originals with the villain they first fought way back…even though it seems like almost yesterday to them?

In a flashback we see how Jean and Magneto agreed to the new partnership in this week’s chapter by Bunn and artist Jorge Molina.

In the first issue the X-Men took on Black Tom Cassidy and Juggernaut and reported back to their new mentor as their new headquarters:  Madripoor.

Teasers showed that the squad is targeting rogue mutants who are a threat to Xavier’s dream including Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw but good guys like Magik and members of the X-Men Gold team?

Will Magneto send his team after Psylocke after she “killed” him?

Back to this week’s revealing second issue, the X-Men confront Sentinels who don’t say “exterminate” but instead, “greetings, fellow mutants.”

Are these mutated Sentinels and who did the manipulation? You may remember in IvX, Emma Frost had a fleet of Inhuman hunting Sentinels.

Back in Madripoor, Magneto (along with his robot Ferris – another classic comeback) descend into a secret chamber where the Time Platform is being repaired. The device adult Hank McCoy used to bring the original X-Men into the present. Is Magneto trying to send the originals back? Why?

The action continues in X-Men: Blue #3 and Jean Grey #1 by Dennis Hopeless arrives next week.
