Lois Lane may be busy in Metropolis with a Man of Steel but her sister is heading to the home of his super-cousin on television.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum (The Witches of East End) is joining the cast of the new CBS drama Supergirl as Lucy Lane as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Dewan-Tatum will join as a recurring character in the third episode.
The character “is as brash, funny and beautiful as her older sister Lois Lane. Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. She’s got a history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and she’s come to town to right a previous wrong.”
Lucy is not as famous as her older sister but her origin goes back to the Silver Age of comics. Lucy was a flight attendant, air traffic controller and Jimmy Olsen’s love interest according to DC Comics but in the modern age Lucy became Superwoman with the power of a mysterious suit.
Melissa Benoist is playing the title hero in the new CBS series coming this September.
