Get ready for a trip inside the mind of the most powerful and misunderstand mutant in the X-Men mythos.

Marvel revealed the first trailer for Legion, coming to FX next year.

It’s the story of David Haller (played by Dan Stevens), “a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real.”

In the comics Legion is the son of Professor Charles Xavier. No official word on if the series will follow comics canon but David is classified as a mutant and we see a very familiar image inside the show logo near the end.

Here’s a first look inside the strange mutant mind of Legion:

This is the first production between Fox (with the team behind the X-Men film franchise) and Marvel Television and developed by Noah Hawley (Fargo.)

More about the comics version: Legion has multiple personalities each possessing different mutant powers. He was an antagonist for the X-Men teams for years and caused the Age of Apocalypse reality.
