How will the Master of Magnetism spend his final moments on Earth:

Accepting his fate and fighting until the end?

Marvel announced Last Days as part of Secret Wars when the Marvel and Ultimate Universe come to an end.

The Magneto solo series by writer Cullen Bunn has been a breakout success but every the fate of Marvel book, hero, villain and anti-hero like Erik is up in the air as Secret Wars will lead to a new Marvel reality.

Bunn (Magneto, Deadpool, Sinestro) explains how this powerful mutant will deal when Last Days hits issue 18.

“Magneto most certainly will not sit idly by while the world ends,”Bunn told Marvel.com. “As is in his nature, he believes he can save the world even when everyone else in the world has failed. But Magneto’s nature also dictates that he’ll resort to some of the most ruthless acts imaginable to accomplish his goals,” Bunn told Marvel.com.

When the world ends how will the mutant leader want history to think of him?
“The legacy he might leave behind weighs heavily on Magneto,” he says. “Now, at the end of the world, the weight of his past decisions and actions is becoming even more terrible. I think I’d like him to be remembered as a man who did bad things for the right reasons, who took steps no one else was capable or willing to take for the betterment of his people—and maybe even for all of humanity.

“He’s a villain, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t try to be the hero at least every now and then.”

In an earlier interview Bunn said Magneto will reconnect with his daughter Polaris as the clock ticks toward the end.

Secret Wars begin in May.
