Bomb dropped. Mouths dropped.

Joshua Williamson is packing Justice League vs. Suicide Squad with shock and awe moments.

The first big DC Rebirth crossover pits League vs Squad after Batman learns of Task Force X. Amanda Waller orders her team to shut him down. But there’s a bigger threat to the DC Universe and in this week’s third chapter: a big bombshell about the history of Amanda Waller’s infamous program that will impact the future of both super groups.

Before we continue here’s a SPOILER ALERT!

If you haven’t read Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #3 stop reading now.

Seriously.

OK.

Here it comes:

Maxwell Lord and his killer crew head to an island after a mysterious being to give him greater mind control power and a mystical artifact before heading to Belle Reve, where the League has been captured.

Waller unites the League and Task Force X to give the lowdown on Lord with intel on each member.

But the big reveal comes on the final page.

Maxwell Lord, Emerald Empress, Raza Kttuah, Doctor Polaris, Johnny Sorrow and Lobo were the original Suicide Squad.

What was the mission that ended this original team?

Why doesn’t Waller have the ability to kill them like her current incarnation?

How did she lose control of these rogues.

What other secret is Waller hiding?

We know Lobo and Killer Frost will end up on the new Justice League of America but what about the other super villains?

Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #3 hits January 11th.
